Electrochemical Oxygen Sensors for Personal Safety
% O2 Sensors – Personal Safety consist of SRZ and SRX series percentage oxygen sensors. These electrochemical oxygen sensors are specifically designed to be used in portable O2 measuring devices for personal safety. The portable analyzers alerts the user when O2 level in the breathing air falls below the safe levels.
% O2 Sensors – Personal Safety can also be used in measuring oxygen in industrial process control. These sensors are also used for measuring oxygen in flares to check combustion efficiency.
Sensor Technology
AST electrochemical oxygen sensors use a proprietary electrolyte formulation combined with specialized sensing element materials. This carefully engineered combination allows the sensor to tolerate high concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO₂) typically present in automotive exhaust streams and flares.
In contrast, many standard electrochemical oxygen sensors experience significant performance degradation when exposed to elevated CO₂ levels. Consequently, those sensors may fail prematurely or provide inaccurate readings. AST sensors overcome this limitation and therefore provide more stable performance and longer operating life in such applications.
Replacement Sensors
AST O2 sensors are designed as direct replacements for several widely used KE Series oxygen sensor models from Figaro. AST offers the following models
- SRZ-CF25 – Replacement to Figaro KE-25
- SRZ-CF25F1 – Replacement to Figaro KE-25-F1
- SRZ-CF25F3 – Replacement to Figaro KE-25F3
- SRZ-CF25F4 – Replacement to Figaro KE-25F4
In addition, AST offers replacement sensors in SRX series for applications where CO2 level is low. The SRX series sensors offer much longer operating life.
