Insta O2 PPM Sensor – Replaces Teledyne Insta Trace B71875

The Insta O2 PPM Oxygen Sensor from Applied Sensing Technologies (AST) delivers accurate and reliable trace oxygen measurement for demanding industrial gas analysis applications. Designed as a direct replacement for Teledyne Insta Trace B71875 oxygen sensor. Because the Insta O2 PPM Oxygen Sensor matches the mechanical and electrical characteristics of Teledyne Insta Trace oxygen sensors, users can replace the original sensor quickly and return their analyzer to service with minimal downtime.

AST Model Insta O2 is the only sensor with same form-fit-function as Teledyne Insta Trace O2 sensor, no spacer needed. Proprietary gas impermeable membrane in front of Insta O2 protects sensing cathode from exposure to high level of oxygen in air during installation. During installation, sample gas continues to flow thru sensor housing. After installation, protective membrane is automatically punctured inside of sensor housing and the sensing surface sees nothing but O2 in the sample gas. This speeds up sensor’s recovery and sensor stabilizes with actual oxygen in sample gas in just a few minutes. The Insta O2 PPM Oxygen is ideal for measuring trace oxygen in inert gases, hydrogen and gaseous hydrocarbon gas streams. Therefore, this sensor is widely used wherever low oxygen concentrations must be monitored continuously.

This PPM Oxygen Sensor incorporates AST’s proprietary electrolyte formulation together with a super-activated lead anode. Consequently, the sensor achieves maximum utilization of the anode while maintaining excellent stability throughout its operating life. In addition, the proprietary electrolyte provides fast response and  rapid recovery after air exposure. These features help reduce maintenance while ensuring consistent and reliable oxygen measurements.

Gas Compatibility

This PPM Oxygen Sensor performs exceptionally well in inert gases, hydrogen, and gaseous hydrocarbon streams. For gas streams containing high concentrations of CO₂ and trace levels of acidic gases, such as H₂S, Applied Sensing Technologies recommends the Insta O2A PPM O₂ Sensor, which is specifically designed for these applications. However, neither the Insta O2 nor the Insta O2A is recommended for use in highly reactive or corrosive gases, including SF₆, HCl, and NH₃.
