Technical overview

AST-14D Oxygen Sensor for scuba diving, is a replacement to AP Diving Model APD14 O2 sensor. It fits in Inspiration, Evolution, XCCR and Flex rebreathers. It also replaces PSR-11-39-SMB O2 sensor. The sensor provides a male coax connector for signal output. The senor utilizes proprietary electrolyte formulation and anode structure that ensures full utilization of Pb anode, thus providing longer life without signal drift and minimizing periodic calibration requirement. AST brand sensors are designed, developed and manufactured in the USA.

Applications and guidance

Advanced Sensor Technology

The AST-14D Diving Oxygen Sensor is designed for scuba and closed-circuit rebreather applications. It serves as a direct replacement for the AP Diving Model APD14 and the AII PSR-11-39-SMB oxygen sensors.

This sensor fits several popular rebreather systems, including Inspiration, Evolution, XCCR, and Flex rebreathers. Because it is a form-fit replacement, divers can install the AST-14D sensor easily in compatible equipment.

The sensor incorporates a proprietary electrolyte formulation combined with a super-cleaned Pb anode. The unique geometry of the anode material plays a critical role in the internal chemical reactions. The activated nature of the anode and unique geometry ensure linearity from air to 1.6 atmosphere of oxygen. Furthermore, the sensor provides longer operating life with minimal signal drift, which helps reduce the frequent calibration.

The sensor incorporate a male coax connected for signal output. The front end of the sensor casing has M16x1 thread for easy installation.

AST-14D and other diving oxygen sensors are designed, developed, and manufactured in the United States by Applied Sensing Technologies.
